Refund policy

Returns within 90 days of receipt — see the conditions below.

This option combines your statutory right of withdrawal during the first 14 days with a commercial extension from the 15th to the 90th day. It is not a lifetime guarantee and does not reduce any of your statutory rights.

Maison Douce applies the rights provided for distance purchases in France.

Statutory right of withdrawal: the first 14 days

You may inform us of your decision to withdraw within 14 days of receiving the lamp, without having to give a reason. Write to contact@maisondoucecompagnie.com, stating your name and order number.

After informing us, you have 14 days to send the product back to the return address we will provide. Do not send a parcel to an address shown on the packaging without our confirmation.

Condition of the product

You may examine the lamp as you would in a shop. It must be returned with its accessories, instructions and, if possible, original packaging. A deduction for diminished value may apply if the product has been handled beyond what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning.

Return costs

If you simply change your mind, you are responsible for the direct return costs, and an estimate will be provided before purchase when the product cannot normally be returned by post. If the lamp received is defective, damaged or incorrect, we will cover the solution and the applicable return costs. No restocking fee is charged.

Refund

The eligible refund is made to the original payment method within 14 days of your withdrawal request. We may wait until we have received the product or proof that it has been sent back. The original standard delivery costs are refunded; the additional cost of a more expensive delivery option chosen by the customer is not.

Defective or non-conforming product

Rights under the statutory guarantee of conformity remain applicable. If a lamp has a defect, stop using it, unplug it if this can be done safely, and contact us promptly with photos or a short video.

Model withdrawal request

“I hereby inform you of my decision to withdraw from order [number], received on [date]. Name: [name]. Address: [address]. Date: [date].”

Commercial extension: from the 15th to the 90th day

If your light fitting does not suit you, you may request a return up to the 90th day after receipt. Write to contact@maisondoucecompagnie.com with your name and order number. This deadline applies to the return request; you then have 14 days to send the product to the address we will provide.

Installed or used light fittings

Light fittings that have already been installed or used normally are accepted. Normal installation or use does not, in itself, constitute grounds for refusing the return or applying a deduction for diminished value. Return the product with its accessories and instructions, and, if possible, its original packaging. Protect it carefully for transport. Tell us about any damage or missing items so that we can explain how to proceed. To remove a light fitting connected to the electrical installation, follow the instructions and use a qualified professional if necessary.

Costs, address and refund

If you change your mind, you are responsible for the direct return costs. No restocking fee is charged. Do not use the address on the packaging without our confirmation: we will provide the appropriate return address.

The refund is made to the original payment method within 14 days of the return request. We may defer it until we receive the product or proof that it has been sent back. The original standard delivery costs are refunded; the additional cost of a more expensive delivery option chosen by the customer is not.

The rules above apply to a return following a change of mind. A defect, delivery damage or non-conformity falls under the applicable statutory rights: contact us for a solution and coverage of applicable return costs. The commercial 90-day period does not limit these rights.
